How to turn a pet photo into a coloring adventure.

A pet coloring book should feel recognizable before it feels fantastical. The reference photo does the remembering; the adventure gives children somewhere to take that familiar face.

Choose a clear reference

Use a photo you own or have permission to transform. Face the light toward your pet, avoid heavy filters and choose an image where the eyes, ears and markings are easy to see.

Add one personality clue

Is your companion curious, sleepy, mischievous or devoted? A single personality direction makes the adventure feel warmer than a generic scene.

Build scenes, not just portraits

A page of your pet on a moon base, in a garden or beside a treasure map is more engaging than the same head repeated. Keep the pet as the visual anchor.

Print one, keep one digital

Download the finished pages for a gift or rainy afternoon, then keep a digital copy so the story can be revisited on a tablet.
